Oscar Washington Tabares does not intend to renew the contract with the Football Federation of Uruguay.

Defeat in the duel of the 1/4 finals of the 2018 World Cup against France may be the last for Oscar Washington Tabares on the post of coach of the Uruguayan national team.

The main reason is the state of health of a 71-year-old specialist who can no longer walk without a cane.

Tabares was the first to head the Uruguayan national team at the 1990 World Cup, and then returned to leadership of the team in 2006 and worked for 12 years at his post.

The duel against France was for Tabares 20th at the helm of the Uruguayan national team in the final world championships.
