Sports director Roma Monchi insists that the club had no choice but to sell Mohammed Salah to Liverpool.

Before the beginning of this season, Salah moved from Roma to Liverpool for 42 million euros. Taking into account the bonuses, the transfer fee can increase to 50 million.

Salah in Liverpool have already scored 43 goals in all tournaments, including 2 - at the gates of Roma in the semifinals of the Champions League (and gave two assistants).

"Indeed, we sold Salah, but Roma was forced to do so because of the requirements of UEFA," - said Monchi Onda Cero.

"Last summer we had to sell until June 30. If they had not submitted, they would not have played in the Champions League semi-final ".

"Our accounts were under strict UEFA control.

When I came to Roma, we were offered 30 million euros for Salah, but then we raised the offer to 50 million euros, taking into account the bonuses ".

"At that moment we made the best decision. I did not expect that after this the market will go crazy. Congratulations to Liverpool on this transaction ".

Roma lost to Liverpool 2: 5 in the first semifinal match of the Champions League in England, and now the home must win at least 3-0 to reach the final.
