Joey Barton will head the club of League One Fitwood Town as soon as his disqualification for bets ends.

Joey Barton will be the new head coach of Fleetwood Town, the official website of the club.

In April 2017, the Football Association disqualified Barton for 18 months for bets in bookmakers, and in July the punishment was reduced by five months.

Thus, the 35-year-old Englishman will begin his first coaching work already in June, having agreed with Fleetwood three-year contract.

As a player, Barton defended the colors of Burnley, Marseille, CRC, Newcastle and Manchester City, and also played one match for England.

After 43 Matches Fleetwood Town scored 54 points and takes the 14th place in the standings of League One.
