FIFA approved the use of video replay in the World Cup-2018

FIFA approved the inclusion of a video assistance system for arbitrators at the World Championships in Russia.

On Friday, March 16, the Council of the International Football Federation (FIFA) at a meeting in Bogota approved the use of the video replay system (VAR) at the 2018 World Cup. This was announced at a press conference by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

"We are waiting for the first World Cup with video replay. The Council approved this decision.

It takes no more than 20 seconds to watch the replay and 99% guarantee an accurate referee's decision, "Infantino Sky Sports quotation.

Earlier it was also reported that FIFA approved a change in the rules regarding the fourth substitution in the extra time of matches at the playoff stages of the world championships.

Note that the VAR system is already used in the championships of France, Italy and Germany. Its main goal is the prevention of mistakes in determining the capture of the goal, the appointment of a penalty and unfair punishment of players.
