Fans of Santos were trapped inside their own stadium due to skirmishes with the police after the departure of the team from Copa Libertadores.

Brazilian Santos home unexpectedly lost to Ecuadoran Barcelona with a score of 0: 1 and left the Copa Libertadores, losing to the sum of two matches 1: 2.

After the final whistle, leaving the stadium of Vila Belmiro, a group of fans of Santos made riots and to disperse the crowd, the police had to use tear gas and noise bombs.

According to local media reports, some fans also tried to break into the team locker room.

To prevent further violence, the club's management decided to close the gates and lock the rest of the club fans inside the stadium for 20 minutes until the police took control of the situation.
