French Football League approved the appointment of Claudio Ranieri as head coach of Nantes.
On the eve of Claudio Ranieri agreed the terms of the two-year contract with Nantes.
However, the last obstacle to the appointment remained the rule of the French Football League (LFP), according to which the coach of the club of League 1 should not be older than 65 years.
The Nantes leadership asked LFP to make an exception, and their request was approved.
"The legal commission of the LFP has given permission to sign a contract between a professional coach, Mr. Ranieri and FC Nantes," says LFP.
Thus, Nantes had to officially announce the appointment of a 65-year-old Italian.
