The President of the Football Federation of Ukraine, Andrei Pavelko, commented on the initiative to hold a qualifying match for the 2018 World Cup between the national team of the country and Turkey.

In the opinion of Pavelko, Kharkov, which took the final of the Cup of Ukraine this year, is an excellent city in order to hold a match between the Ukrainian team and Turkey.

"We witnessed a record of attendance among the finals of the Cup of Ukraine in recent years.

Kharkiv has always supported our national team and clubs at the highest level ".

"Sincere support of the fans confirmed the correctness of the decision to hold the national cup in Kharkov. We are waiting for the same hot support in the match against Turkey, only at the most filled stadium. We have very high hopes for the Kharkov fans. We hope for a positive result in the confrontation with competitors in the qualifying round, "- said Pavelko.

The match between Ukraine and Turkey will be held on September 2.
