President of ULP Vladimir Geninson believes that changes in the format of the championship of Ukraine will benefit the Ukrainian football.

Earlier, the meeting of the UPL participants approved a new format for the Ukrainian capmionate. In the next season, 12 clubs will remain in the ULP, the draw of the championship will be held in two stages, and at the end of the championship the teams that took 10th and 11th places will play in the two-legged playoffs with the second and third teams of the First League.

"Thanks to the new format, we will have more top matches.

We hope that this format will increase attendance and channel ratings, "said Geninson.

"This is the product that can be sold, unlike if we got a three-game first-place game with the penultimate seat".

"We keep the intrigue to the very end, because in the bottom six immediately three clubs will fight for survival," added the president.
