Latvian member of the Council of the International Federation of Hockey (IIHF) VIESTURS COSIOLS shared about the influence of the new US President Donald Trump on the possible return of Russia to international competitions.
" It would be great! But I think Trump is a little busy. I do not think that he will engage in world championships and the return of Russians, ”he said.
Recall, on February 28, 2022, the IIHF Council removed all the clubs and national teams of Russia and Belarus in connection with the beginning of a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine.
The organization also took away from Russia the right to hold a home youth championship of the World-2023, and later IIHF extended the removal from the competition.
