At the assembly of the Diamond League, it was decided to remove athletes from Russia and Belarus from the competition, as reported by the official website of the prestigious athletics tournament.
This step was part of a campaign to isolate Russian sports after the start of the Russian military invasion with the participation of Belarus in Ukraine..
The press service of the tournament noted that they do not see the possibility of inviting these athletes even in a neutral status.
A similar decision was made by the organizers of the 2022 European Summer Sports Championship.. The tournament will be held from 11 to 21 August in Munich.
