The fourth racket of the world Iga Sventek spoke about the war that the Russian Federation unleashed on the territory of Ukraine.
" I want to demonstrate, albeit symbolically, my solidarity with Ukraine, so I will play my matches in Indian Wells with a ribbon in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. I am only 20 years old, I do not have much life experience, so I will not pretend that I know exactly how to help in a war. I trust specific institutions and teams.
I know that organizations such as Polish Humanitarian Action or the Polish Red Cross and others that help and support people in an organized manner should be supported.. I admire the strength and courage of the Ukrainians and I am proud of the Poles who provide great assistance to Ukrainians, open their homes and support refugees at the borders. I also want to express solidarity with Ukrainian tennis players,"
Recall that on February 24, Russian President Putin made an urgent statement about conducting a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, launching a large-scale invasion of Ukrainian cities.
