Liverpool suffered a sensational defeat to Brighton in the 22nd round of the English Premier League. The meeting, which took place at Anfield, ended with a victory of the guests with a score of 0: 1.

The hero of the meeting was Brighton midfielder Steven Alsate. In the 56th minute, he awkwardly sent the ball into the goal of 22-year-old Kuivin Kelleher after a pass from Leandro Trossard.

It is interesting that the “red” struck only one shot on target of the guests (11 in total) in 90 minutes of the game, while in Brighton this figure was higher - 4 shots on target (14 in total).

Liverpool, with 40 points, remained in 4th place in the Premier League standings. Brighton (24 points) moved up from 17th to 15th position.

Liverpool will host championship leader Manchester City at home on 7 February next round. Brighton will meet Burnley the day before.
