Second-team player Hosaya Raisuke, celebrating victory in the game, unexpectedly took referee Laurent Millott by the arms and lifted him above his head.
The referee did not like the actions of the rugby player - he immediately presented him with a red card. It is possible that Raisuke may suffer a more severe punishment for his act - a fine and disqualification.
The match itself ended with the victory of Nevers with a score of 30:25.
Raisuke has been playing for his current club since 2017.
