Iranian Persepolis forward Issa Alekasir suspended six months for celebrating Pakhtakor's goal in the Asian Champions League.

In the quarterfinals of the tournament, Alekasir scored a double against the Uzbek club and celebrated success by showing a narrow cut of his eyes with his fingers.

This gesture was deemed racist by the Asian Football Confederation. A few hours before the semi-final match of " The club defended their player and said that the punishment is unfair, because Alekasir has been celebrating goals scored for a long time. He devotes this gesture to his nephew. Persepolis expects that after this explanation the sentence will be overturned. We add that despite the striker's disqualification, “Persepolis” managed to win the semifinals and reach the final of the Asian Champions League.

Earlier TSN Prosport reported that in Sweden a black footballer was disqualified for racism.
