English Premier League (Premier League) executives discuss plans for a coronavirus epidemic, which could lead to a ban on public events.

Negotiations are ongoing to ensure the end of the season. According to The Guardian, the Premier League matches will be held without spectators if an emergency occurs.

In the meantime, all matches will take place according to the planned calendar.

Earlier media wrote that the season of the Championship of England may be declared invalid, and “Liverpool”, which leads with 79 points, will not become a champion.



UEFA has reportedly set up a working group which, if necessary, will reschedule matches due to the spread of coronavirus.

Due to the outbreak of the virus in Italy, Serie A matches were without spectators, some were rescheduled. Behind the closed bleachers a duel of the 1/16 finals of the Europa League “Inter” - “Ludogorets” took place. Also without spectators can hold two matches of the Champions League.

As of March 2, another five new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the UK, which led to an increase in the total number of patients in the country to 40.
