Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina failed to defend the title of the Final tournament, which she won last year.
25-year-old Svitolina lost the first racket of the planet as part of the competition finale - Ashley Barty.
The meeting, which lasted an hour and a half, ended with a score of 4: 6, 3: 6. During this time, the Ukrainian issued two submissions “on departure”, made two double mistakes and won two of three breaks. Thus, losing to the Australian, Svitolina failed to win the prestigious tournament for the second time in a row.
In the semifinals, Elina passed the representative of Switzerland Belinda Bencic, who refused to finish the match.
