From February 21 to March 3 in Nikolaev is the Ukrainian Championship in chess among boys and girls under the age of 20, attended by 65 chess players from 15 regions of Ukraine.

March 1, ended the competition in the classic game. In the competitions among the girls, the Kharkov-based Nadezhda Salakh won 7 points in nine rounds and became the champion of Ukraine. Anna Tribushina from the Kherson region, which won the second place, lagged behind the winner by one point. The winner of the third prize was the Kyivan Elena Dvornitskaya (5. 5 points).

In competitions among young men the champion was Platon Galperin from the Chernihiv region.

On March 2 and 3, medals will be played in a fast and lightning game.
