Hackers Fancy Bears declassified the documents, thanks to which the president of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach appeared in a very unattractive light. From the letters published in the Network it follows that Bach knew about the cases of doping concealed by the Canadian Olympic Committee and even admitted that "it is not better than Russia - it also covers doping". This is an upsurge associated with the positive doping test of the Canadian pole vaulter Sean Barber. In his analyzes, traces of cocaine were found, but no disciplinary measures were taken: the athlete went to the Summer Olympics in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro and took 10th place there. For comparison, all Russian athletes were suspended from the Games-2016 - even those who have never had positive doping tests. Including his fourth Olympics lost the famous pole vault Yelena Isinbayeva.

Barber explained the traces of cocaine with a prostitute. In Canada, they did not raise the noise and found him innocent, concealing a positive doping test. It only remains to complain about the policy of double standards actively pursued by the International Olympic Committee: severe sanctions were imposed on Russia, the national team was banned from performing under the Russian flag at the Olympics in Pyeongchang. At the same time, Canada, with the connivance of the IOC, managed to get out of the water.
