We talk a lot about history. But the attitude towards her often seems strange.
Next is the test in the original language. Close to 200 thousand Ukrainians - citizens of Poland, mobilized into the Polish army in 1939, fighters of the Army of Anders and Wijska Polski - are called to respect the Poles. Only a few thousand Polish citizens of the Ukrainian campaign, responsible for the massacre of peaceful Poles in 1943, are called Ukrainians. The dead tens of thousands of people (according to estimates of some Polish historians - close to 100 thousand) are also respected by the Poles.
At the same time, no one will know about the tens of thousands of Poles who marched in Ukraine and became victims of immediate violence.. And those who kill them are not treated as evildoers by their peers. In the sovereign memory of Poland, these people are practically daily.
Work on the knowledge of power history is urgently needed in Poland. Ale tse – її on the right.
On the right there is a doubt, they are set as a European power to violate the rights of the largest national minority at that time and to preserve the memory of representatives of this minority who heroically captured Poland.
Ours on the right is to lose our heads in front of all the fallen Poles and Ukrainians. We can honestly tell our history. And preserving the memory of the Ukrainians who were killed through their actions is our responsibility.
I don’t use other formulas other than: “I forgive and ask for help”.
The greatest memory of the dead is such messages between peoples and powers that will never again lead to similar tragedies.
