One of the last monuments to Lenin was dismantled near Odessa

Monument to Lenin in the village of Kalcheva, Bolgradsky district, Odessa region was dismantled on January 21.

This was announced by the head of the Southern Regional Department of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance Serhiy Gutsalyuk in a commentary to Radio Liberty.

The information was confirmed by the head of the village Georgy Kasim. The monument was dismantled by local residents and sold to the Frumushika-Nova Park, where in recent years Soviet monuments to Lenin, Stalin, Marx and others have been collected. Kasim did not name the price of the monument.

Gutsalyuk noted that by the end of the month in the Odessa region they plan to dismantle another monument to Lenin, in the village of Starye Troyany.
