The district administrative court of Kiev excluded the European elk from the Red Book of Ukraine and allowed the hunt for it, the press service of the court reports..
In particular, the plaintiff asked the court to declare illegal the actions of the defendant to ban elk hunting. Also the plaintiff asked to invalidate the order of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine "On Amendments to the List of Animal Species Listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.
The court decided to partially satisfy the administrative lawsuit - recognized the actions of the Ministry of Environment banning the hunting of moose as illegal, and also declared the order of the Ministry "On Amendments to the List of Species of Animals listed in the Red Book of Ukraine (Animal Kingdom)" illegal.
