By 2018, emergency, worn out to the holes, in some places on the highway, not only the asphalt remains, but even the foundation under it. This route was one of those 90% of all 170 000 km of domestic automobile arteries, which experts as of 2016 recognized as inappropriate. They were either not repaired during the whole period of operation, or patched.

On October 1, the Kharkov-Akhtyrka highway was officially commissioned.. 100 km of the road done in four months. And now the updated R-46, already reflects the overall road situation in Ukraine. Regional highways repair high quality, modern and safe.

The quality of the work was checked by the specialists of the state enterprise “Road quality control” and scientists of the Kharkov National Automobile and Highway University ”.

Record financing This year, the government has allocated about 46 billion UAH for current and capital repairs of roads.. Of these, 11.5 transferred to repair local roads.

"This year we repaired the largest number of roads in the last 5 years - 2100 km. For comparison - in 2014 only 102 km were repaired.

Back in 2016, the Prime Minister of Ukraine launched a program for large-scale restoration of destroyed roads. Already 2018 shows that annually the volume of repairs grows twice. Therefore, before the end of the season of work, the road workers promise to turn over 4,000 km of roads marked “repair completed”.

Another significant change was the strict quality control of repairs.. If there are flaws on the road, they are eliminated by the contractor.. Ukrainians will not pay for the alteration. Moreover, Ukravtodor is currently reviewing contracts for 2015-2016, because then the contractors gave a three-year guarantee for the roadbed. Now the requirements for repairmen are tougher: responsibility for the current restoration of the route during 5 years of operation, and the overhaul should serve without damage for all 10 years.

In general, from the repaired roads in 2017, 222 objects were inspected.. The level of deficiencies is at 8%, and contractors will eliminate them..

Again, as an example of the route Kharkiv-Akhtyrka. Here, the stages of commissioning of the object control oragns took a sample of the quality of asphalt (core). It is 28 cm, the thickness of the coating reaches 37 cm.

What to expect next?.

In 2019, the work of repair crews on the R-46 highway will go beyond the borders of Kharkiv region in Sumy region. But in the recovery region will continue. The next in line is the completion of the Chuguev-Cretaceous highway and work on the Kiev-Kharkov-Dovzhansky section is Lugansk. And also one of the most worn out tracks in the direction of Merefa - Lozova - Pavlograd. And this is only the limits of Kharkiv region..
