Armenian authorities carried out inspections in relation to the subsidiary structures of the Russian state-owned company "Gazprom" in the country and came to the conclusion that the subsidiaries avoided paying taxes. State Revenue Committee initiated a case against the company, the Armenian ministry said.

"A number of violations and cases of tax evasion from paying large-scale tax liabilities have been identified," the committee said after the audit of Gazprom Armenia..

The Office notes that tax violations are revealed in the calculations of value added tax and income tax - in 2016 and 2017, the company deliberately underestimated the figures, resulting in lower tax revenues.

"The abuses committed by the company are evidenced by gas losses, as well as data on comparative studies carried out on the part of the volumes of natural gas supplied to gas filling stations for compressors," the message says.

In addition, the company is suspected of deliberately understating supplies and artificially increasing losses in gas pipelines: the volume of losses at the beginning of 2018 was three times higher than in the middle of the year. According to the results of the inspection, a criminal case has been initiated;.

"Gazprom Armenia" is an alternative gas supplier for Armenia.
