One of the defendants of the case of abductions, torture and provocations against citizens during the Revolution of Virtue Sergei Chemes was sentenced to three years and three months in prison.

For suspected crimes, Chemesu was facing up to ten years of imprisonment, but the defendant concluded a deal with the investigation to recognize guilt, notes NV.

The sentence will come into force in a month. In the term of imprisonment, he will be credited with the term served by him in the temporary detention facility, according to the formula "one day for two" (for the so-called Savchenko law). Therefore, in general, Chemes will remain in custody for about two months.

According to prosecutors, Chees's accusatory testimony against other defendants in the case became weighty for establishing the role of other titles in crimes, including the organizer of the gang Yuri Krysin.

In the case against Yuri Krysin, a break was announced before September 12. Now he remains the only defendant.

Yuri Krysin is accused of abetting in kidnapping, torturing Maidanov, obstructing peaceful assemblies, and hooliganism during the events on the Maidan in January-February 2014. The term of arrest of Ratin expires on September 13.

On June 13, the Court of Appeal of Kiev sentenced Ratin to the murder of journalist Vyacheslav Veremia to five years in prison. In turn, the prosecution asked for six years of imprisonment.

On the night of February 19, 2014, Veremy and his colleague drove home from work by taxi to the Left Bank. At the corner of Vladimir and the Great Zhitomir he noticed armed "titles" in camouflage and masks and tried to photograph them from the car.

Armed people immediately attacked the car, began to smash it, dragged the driver and passengers. The driver and another passenger managed to escape after the beating, and Veremia was badly beaten, then shot in the chest and left to bleed. At the same time, the police officers present on the spot stayed on the sidelines and did not interfere in the events.

Veremiy was taken to the intensive care hospital, but because of the loss of blood and injuries incompatible with life, around six in the morning of February 19, he died during surgery.
