The suspect lives in the Schwalm-Eder district (between Frankfurt am Main and Hanover) and could serve in the Waffen-SS division, who took part in the crime in Babi Yar. The German prosecutor's office became interested in the alleged ex-SS after the appeal of the Israeli Center Simon Wiesenthal, who established his involvement in the crimes.
