Prosecutors of the prosecutor's office of the Kharkov region asked the court to extend the duration of the preventive measure for 60 days in the pretrial detention center without the right to make a pledge, notes 2day. kh. ua.

"If there is another preventive measure in relation to Zaitseva, there is a risk of influence on witnesses on her part. During her stay at large she will have the opportunity to interfere with the investigation. Also, in case of her release from custody, there is a risk that she will commit a similar crime, "- said the prosecutor Valery Bukhan.

Representatives of the victims supported the position of the prosecutor's office. Dronov's lawyers opposed the petition. "The circumstances by which the prosecutor explains the risks - are not sufficiently substantiated. Testimony of witnesses can not prove the necessity of keeping Dronov in custody, since they do not characterize his personality in any way. Due to Dronov's fault, the court hearing was never postponed or canceled. I think that in relation to my client, you can apply home arrest, "- said the lawyer Dronov Sergei Perepelitsa and filed a written application to court.

"I have not tried to escape for this time. Plus my mother is home alone, she is 85 years old. I support my lawyer, "- said Dronov.

Zaitseva's lawyer does not object to the petition of the prosecutor's office.

"I agree with the position of my lawyer and do not mind," added Zaitseva.

Judge Victor Popras decided to extend the measure of restraint to both defendants before June 1. Zaitseva and Dronov will remain in SIZO No. 27 without the right to make a pledge. The decision is not subject to appeal.
