The Football Federation of Ukraine denied Ukrainian journalists accreditation for the 2018 World Cup for security reasons.
This is reported by the Observer with reference to Eurosport.
Unlike the Confederations Cup-2017, when journalists formalized accreditation for matches from a certain publication, FIFA tightened the admission to the games of the final stage of the World Cup. The issuance of accreditations for the 2018 World Cup was held through the national federations.
As the newspaper informs, the representative of the press service of the Football Federation of Ukraine promised to issue special electronic keys for journalists till the deadline for submission of applications - until January 31. A few days before deadline, Ukrainian journalists learned that the 2018 World Cup will be held without them.
