Due to the conflict in Donbass, more than 40,000 homes were damaged

This is stated in the document "Humanitarian Response Plan for 2018, Ukraine".

As noted, 34 educational institutions were damaged or destroyed due to shelling in 2017. It is also reported that so far 703 thousand schoolchildren and teachers suffer from the influence of conflict.

Let's add that 19 thousand children live within a radius of 5 km from the "line of demarcation".

Recall, as previously reported, "URA-Inform", in the last plenary week of this year, December 19-22, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will consider in the second reading the bill on securing the sovereignty of Ukraine over the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
