Patriarch urged artists "not to rock the boat of human passions".

"Today, sin is demonstrated in the most attractive way - through the cinema, through the theater ... And the art that is designed to cultivate the human personality, enrich it, raise it to the sky, becomes a weight that does not allow a person to fly up," said the patriarch.

He stressed that this is not about all art, but only about the one that claims "about some special role, about the special rights to bear the temptation and sin of the people, to confuse people".

In the opinion of the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, a significant part of the creative intelligentsia repeats the "pernicious error" of its predecessors, who led the country to revolution in 1917.

Earlier, Patriarch Kirill said that the cause of the October Revolution was the "destruction of the spiritual foundations" of the Russian elite, which began two hundred years before the revolutionary events. The head of the Russian Orthodox Church stressed that one should not step on the "old rake" and again isolate the church from the people.
