The Minister congratulated all newly elected heads of territorial communities, stressing that it is from them that now the extent of the process of decentralization will depend. Zubko noted that it is urgently necessary for Ukraine to introduce new social standards in the countryside, as more than 33 percent of Ukrainians live in towns and villages, in contrast to France, Germany and Belgium, where part of the rural population exceeds six percent.
At the moment, 3.6 million rural residents already live in the UTO, three times more people expect the creation of such structures in the framework of decentralization.
As reported in the "URA-Inform", now in Ukraine has already created about 700 territorial communities.
