The fire in the Pushkin Museum was extinguished

On Friday afternoon, in one of the buildings of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. Pushkin, at Volkhonka, 10, there was a fire. It is assumed that the focus was in the ventilation system, from where the flame spread to the roof.

In this two-story building, which is located next to the main building, is a museum of personal collections. The State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. Pushkin - one of the largest storages of works of foreign art. In the museum's funds are more than 700 thousand works of art from different eras: from ancient civilizations to the 21st century.

From the building were evacuated 30 people - visitors and staff of the building. The Volkhonka movement was also blocked.

From the roof of the building there was a pungent smoke, the area of ??fire was 40 square meters. On-site worked 10 firefighting calculations (70 people), and to 16. 00 the fire was eliminated. By the evening the fire was extinguished. As a result of the fire, there are no casualties, no injuries or works of art.
