Today, August 14, the Regional Landscape Park Feldman Ecopark visited the Israeli Minister of Ecology Zeev Elkin. The guest had time to get acquainted with the entire exposition part of the zoo, as well as its renovated grounds and enclosures.

"I was here a year ago, during my previous official visit to Ukraine, and then I was already shocked by this wonderful project. But it must be said that for this year Ecopark has changed a lot - new aviaries have appeared. Such growth rates I have not seen even in Israeli zoos, - said Mr. Elkin. - Ecopark is not only interesting as a zoo, which operates and is aligned to European standards. It is also pleasant to use the park as an educational complex. I see how much work is done with children, there is an abundance of different kinds of projects - it's very interesting, great. This is a new word in comparison with what we used to usually see here in Ukraine, in zoos ".

Also during the meeting, the parties managed to outline plans for future cooperation - in Feldman Ecopark they want to build a monkey nursery that will become a home for the saved Israeli primates.

"We are now solving the problem of the distribution of 1200 monkeys around the world, which at one time grew in Israel for experiments, but the Israeli law has changed and we are not allowed to sell animals for medical research now. There was a question what to do with them and one of the ideas that is being discussed now is the distribution of them on international zoos, "said Zeev Elkin.

Feldman Ecopark took the initiative to host one of the groups of primates and to coordinate in the territory of Ukraine cooperation with other zoos.

Recall that Feldman Ecopark and the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo has been actively exchanging animals since 2015. The first animals transferred to colleagues abroad were river otters. Then the Chief Veterinary Officer and Director of the zoological part of the Jerusalem Bible Zoo, Dr. Nili Avni-Magen, noted that cooperation with Ecopark gave a great chance for effective multiplication of river otters and the growth of their populations, which are a task of national importance.
