This is reported by "Voice of America".
As noted, the very launch of the ballistic missile was made by one of the aircraft of the US Air Force. Nevertheless, it was intercepted by the anti-missile defense system.
The tests were held as a demonstration of the capabilities of the US missile defense system after the launch of the North Korean intercontinental ballistic missile in the direction of Japan two days ago.
By the way, a similar system is also deployed in South Korea.
At the same time, MDA head Sam Greaves said that this test will help the US stay one step ahead of the growing threat.
Recall, as previously reported by URA-Inform, the United States, France, Germany and Great Britain categorically do not recognize and condemn Iran's launch of a carrier rocket of its own production Simorgh.
