Opposition parties and human rights defenders spoke against the bill. According to critics of this legislative initiative, the proposed innovations violate the constitutional principle of separation of powers. This is written by the Air Force.

The ruling Right and Rescue Party in Poland, which supports the adoption of this law, argues that reform is necessary because of the corruption of the existing judicial system. Representatives of the party argue that the courts in Poland actually serve only the interests of the elite.

Minister of Justice Zbigniew Zebro said earlier this week that changes are necessary, since the current system of appointing judges does not comply with democratic principles.

"We want to stop corporatism and give democracy air. Because Poland is a democracy based on the rule of law. This is not "sudokratiya", - said the Minister.

For the bill to become law, it must be signed by the country's president, Andrzej Duda. The president did not talk earlier about plans to impose a veto on the law.

Opponents of the bill announced the holding of protests in Warsaw on Sunday. The opposition considers the proposed changes unfair and fears that the decisive word in the appointment of judges will remain for the ruling party that dominates the parliament.

The international human rights organization Amnesty International also expressed disagreement with the reform. According to the statement, if the members of the National Judicial Council, which is called upon to guarantee the independence of judges and courts, will be elected by the deputies, then this body will actually be controlled by the parliament, which contradicts democratic principles.

Also this week, another bill was submitted to Parliament for consideration, which allows the Minister of Justice to dismiss all judges of the Supreme Court of Poland and appoint new ones.

After coming to power in 2015, the party "Right and Correctness" adopted a number of laws that caused massive protests in the country.

In January last year in Poland, protests against the law on the media, which gives the government the right to directly appoint managers of public television and radio companies.
