The forest burns almost on the border of a 10-kilometer zone near the village of Buryakivka, and the south-west wind. Therefore, no threats are foreseen for the nuclear power plant.

This was told on Thursday evening, June 29, head of the State Emergency Service in the Kiev region Vasily Slobodyanik.

According to him, the fight against fire continues. Now in the Chernobyl zone, 16 pieces of equipment are involved and 63 people of the State Emergency Service are assisted by 17 units of equipment and 53 people from the forestry. Three cars additionally bring water from the "Northern Forest", - he explained, adding that the spread of fire is not observed.

Remind, as reported URA-Inform, in the zone of alienation of the Chernobyl zone of the Kiev region on the territory of the Lubyansky forestry forest caught fire. The fire began when the technological deforestation was carried out for the construction of the railway. Here, the remains of wood and forest litter fired.
