Searches are associated with embezzlement of money in especially large amounts. According to the press service of the GPU, the investigators found that the former management of the bank in the period 2008-2016 after receiving refinancing from the National Bank of Ukraine, issued loans related to the bank to business entities, loans totaling about 267 billion hryvnia.

Thus, abusing his official position and violating the requirements of the legislation, the bank's management continued to issue loans at pre-unprofitable conditions for the bank to legal entities with signs of fictitiousness.

After that, the state, in order to avoid destabilizing the financial market, was forced to nationalize the bank and make additional capitalization by budgetary means to the amount of 116 billion hryvnia.

Today, the investigators received the court's permission and conducted searches at the place of residence of former bank officials and at the addresses of legal entities connected with the bank. During the searches it was found that in most cases at these addresses business entities are absent and there are no signs that they were there, the prosecutor's office explained..

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the head of the GPU Yuriy Lutsenko today in Parliament said that the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine for the year investigated more than a thousand corruption cases.
