Urals was convicted for the murder committed 15 years ago in Kazakhstan

Krasnoturinsky City Court rendered a verdict in the criminal case against Eduard Smirnov born in 1968. He was found guilty of committing a crime. 1 st. 105 of the Criminal Code (killing a person).

On the night of July 28-29, 2002, Smirnov, previously convicted for murder, while in a state of intoxication in an apartment located along Zhabaev Street in the city of Petropavlovsk of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during a quarrel with his acquaintance, inflicted at least 16 blows to her with two knives. From the wounds received, the woman died at the scene of the accident.



Immediately after the commission of the crime, Eduard Smirnov disappeared from the territory of Kazakhstan, in connection with which he was put on the international wanted list. They detained him 14 years later on December 18, 2016 in the Russian city of Ivanovo. The case was sent to the Krasnoturinsky City Court at the place where the accused was registered.

The court sentenced Eduard Smirnov to punishment in the form of 11 years of imprisonment with serving in a correctional colony of strict regime.
