Among Ukrainian audiences, the “trend” of listening to music created with the help of artificial intelligence is gaining increasing popularity. This is clearly demonstrated by the chart on the YouTube platform, where among the top ten most popular tracks there were as many as 6 AI compositions. Of the real artists, only Kalush Orchestra with the work “Eyes”, Elena Omargalieva – “Zeyshla Dawn”, Sugar – “Comfort Zone” and YAKTAK – “Kiss” were in the top 10.. This trend seriously threatens the careers of performers, because their work has recently lost demand against the backdrop of incendiary AI compositions, which often have no deep meaning.
The viral track " The author of the lyrics and music of the song was Alexander Plisakin (Kavabanga), the male part was performed by Dmitry Lelyuk (Kolibri), but the female part was generated using AI. Below in the ranking were the compositions “Before Svitanku” (IRENA), “Well, how are you there” (AI MOVA), Forever Mine (ZADEN), “Guess me” (AI MOVA) and “Having fun with the summer” (DJ VIRALOV). All mentioned compositions feature a voice created thanks to artificial intelligence technologies.
This “trend” is observed not only on YouTube video hosting.
Participants in the Bezodnya Music project conducted an analysis of the media market, which showed that in Ukraine AI music accounts for approximately 24% of chart listening. This figure is the highest among the five countries studied, which also included Poland, France, the UK and the USA..
According to the results of the analysis, Ukrainians most often listened to compositions created with the help of AI on the YouTube platform - 36% of the total number of musical works. On the streaming service Spotify this figure is 4%, and on Apple Music – 9%.
