The official message appeared today on the official Green Gray Facebook page. The band's note reads: \! This is how Diezel always started when he was with us. But, unfortunately, fate takes the best. Andrey Diezel Yatsenko passed away on October 20, 2025 due to heart failure caused by coronary heart disease, which stopped beating at 9 a.m."

The artist was called a tireless creator and a symbol of an entire generation that grew up on his energy.

The farewell ceremony for Andrey Yatsenko will take place on October 23 at the Cinema House of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine (6 Saksaganskogo Street, Kyiv).

Starts at 09:00, ends at 11:30.

Information about the musician’s death was first reported by the producer and founder of the group “Vkhid u Zminnomu Vzutti” (VUZV) Alexander Steganov (Steganoff). It was subsequently confirmed by Green Gray members who updated their page covers with a photo of the candle.

A black ribbon also appeared on Andrey’s personal Facebook page.

Andrey Yatsenko was born on December 25, 1969 in Kyiv.

He was a guitarist, composer and undisputed leader of Green Gray - a group that became the face of Ukrainian rock in the 1990s–2000s. His work combined energy, drive and sincerity, which resonated with thousands of listeners.

After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Yatsenko actively volunteered: he helped evacuate families abroad, and then joined the TrO Mriya battalion.. There he was engaged in air defense, anti-missile and anti-drone defense, without leaving music even at the front.
