New Zealand director Peter Jackson, best known as the author of the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings", is preparing a documentary about the First World War, writes The Hollywood Reporter. The premiere of the film will take place in the framework of the London Film Festival (usually in October), and then the film will be released on BBC One.

"I was always fascinated by the theme of the First World," said Jackson. - This is due primarily to the history of my own family.

2018, the centenary of the end of the war is an excellent opportunity to make a personal contribution to honoring the past. I wanted to breathe new life into the history of ordinary people who had to live in those incredible times ".

A little is known about the details of the future picture. The creators only reported that it will use archival footage from the collection of the Imperial Military Museum of Britain and sound recordings from the archives of the BBC. The title of the movie has not yet been approved.
