To the procession of carols, everyone could join. People were dressed in traditional Ukrainian Christmas costumes, in hand were holding homemade stars, and in front were carrying a ceremonial iducha.
Carols passed around the main Christmas tree of the country on Sofia Square, and then passed by a walk near the Mikhailovsky Cathedral. During the procession, people sang carols glorifying the birth of Jesus Christ. The event gathered more than 100 people. On the square, the metropolitan police and the National Guard.
On the square itself, the Kiev authorities have built a special stage and fair, where citizens and guests of the capital can spend their New Year and Christmas holidays.
As reported in "URA-Inform", today the Pope Francis congratulated all believers on Christmas.
