Pagan and Christian motifs intertwined in folk carols. A special place is occupied by author's church carols.
Some of them are of foreign origin, but were later translated into Ukrainian or Russian. Among them - the famous Christmas song "Night is quiet".
In addition to the birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas carols honor all family members to whom the carols. Mocked carols go from house to house and sing carols to the owners, and they give them coins and sweets.
The ritual of caroling is accompanied by music, dancing, games.
As previously reported in URA-Inform, Ukrainian musicians rock rock-variety "KoraLLi" congratulated everyone on New Year and Christmas holidays in an extraordinary way, they released Christmas carols in the fateful processing of "Rock-Carols Before the Holy!".
