Ukrainian singer and musician Valery Kharchyshyn made a rare comment about three children. In an interview for the program “Closer to the Stars”, the leader of the group “Druha Rika” openly spoke about his sons - Dmitry, Evgeniy and Ivan.

The artist’s greatest pride is his eldest son Dmitry, born in the singer’s first marriage. With the start of a full-scale invasion, he came to the defense of Ukraine. Kharchyshin noted that Dmitry had already received the rank of lieutenant, although previously he could not even imagine himself as a military man. Because of his service, the guy couldn’t even attend his father’s recent concert—the command wouldn’t let him go.

If Valery has complete mutual understanding with his eldest son, then with his youngest son, 14-year-old Ivan, the performer is now going through a difficult period. The singer admitted that for the first time he felt a serious age gap between them. Due to the guy’s difficult adolescence, Kharchyshyn finds it difficult to find a common language, so he tries not to put pressure on his son.

“For the first time I felt a big age difference between me and my son. It's hard for me to communicate with him. So I found it with everyone, but not with Ivan. But I invited them to go skiing. Middle son - yes. But I can’t go without my youngest. Junior slows down. No. I’m afraid that he will close down and won’t communicate at all,” Valery shares his experiences.

The musician noted that he does not consider himself an ideal father, since he lacks consistency in his upbringing. However, the children remind him from time to time that he is a “cool dad.”. Kharchyshyn adheres to the principle of “good cop”, but requires honesty from children, especially in matters of safety.

The artist also explained why there are almost no family photos on his social networks.. According to Valery, this was the conscious position of his ex-wives and children themselves - they never sought publicity, and he always respected this right to privacy.
