In Kiev today, May 3, said goodbye to the Ukrainian poet Boris Oliynyk. The funeral for the deceased was held in the Holy Dormition Cathedral of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, after which the Cabinet of Ministers held a farewell ceremony, the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

To part with the poet came members of the government headed by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, people's deputies, famous cultural figures and admirers of Oliynyk's creativity.

"Today we pay homage to the person who embodies the whole epoch. Despite the difficult socio-political conditions that accompanied him throughout his life, he still managed to preserve himself as a great poet, as a person who defended his own convictions, "Minister of Culture Yevgeny Nishchuk said during the farewell ceremony.

Oliynyk was buried in the capital Baikovo cemetery.
