The head of state expressed the opinion that "the first urgent task is to eliminate environmental damage, to conduct a full reclamation of contaminated areas".

The publication reports that now the Russian leader is on a visit to the Republic of Buryatia. As part of the trip, Putin held meetings on environmental issues in the region, inspected the exposition of the tourist center of the Baikal State Natural Biosphere Reserve and talked with volunteers.
