It's time for the US and its allies to close the skies over Ukraine, say US national security experts - Keith B. Alexander (former director of the National Security Agency and one of the founders of US Cyber \u200b\u200bCommand) and Jameel N. Jaffer (founder of the GMU Homeland Security Institute), as they stated in their column for The Hill.

" We must tell Putin to stop the senseless killing of the Ukrainian people and withdraw his troops from Ukraine immediately.. We must make it clear that although we do not want war, we can no longer stand by and watch him kill innocent civilians.. We must send the US Air Force - and hopefully our allies - into the skies over Ukraine to stop the killings and ensure the withdrawal of Russian troops by establishing a no-fly zone.. We must explain to Putin that we will not send ground troops into Ukraine unless Russia attacks our forces, and that our aircraft will not fire on the Russian military during their withdrawal and will only respond if attacked,” the column reads..

Experts also believe that the United States and allies can declare their attitude towards Ukraine as a neutral state, but at the same time they must provide Ukraine with large-scale humanitarian support and military equipment so that the country can defend itself from Russia..

“However, it must be clear that if Russia continues to massacre civilians, we will enforce the no-fly zone.. If a Russian air defense system shoots down one of our planes, we will destroy its air defense system in Ukraine. If missiles are launched against us or our allies, we will destroy those missiles.. And any use of unconventional weapons in Ukraine - nuclear, chemical or biological - will lead to a powerful response, ”experts warn.
