The State Duma will discuss with experts a draft law on pensions before the second reading

Deputies of the State Duma will hold large parliamentary hearings to discuss a government bill aimed at improving pension legislation, on August 21. This was announced by the speaker of the lower house, Vyacheslav Volodin. He pointed out that this decision was supported by the leaders of all the Duma factions. "Deputies in the regions actively discuss this bill with voters, and the profile committee is already working with incoming proposals and amendments to the second reading," said Volodin. He recalled that from August 27 to September 9, deputies will work in their constituencies, and the final date for collecting amendments to the bill on pensions is September 24. "Given the importance of this bill, it would be correct to discuss it thoroughly before the autumn session," explained Volodin. At the hearings on the Okhotny Ryad on August 21, both representatives of the legislative and executive branches of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as experts, members of various civil society institutions and, of course, profile ministers. The new practice of holding parliamentary hearings when considering resonant bills has already proved its effectiveness. At the site of the State Duma, experts discussed the issues of renovation, protection of co-investors, the introduction of resort collection. Only for the spring session of 2018.

in the State Duma there were 23 parliamentary hearings, including on the basic directions of budgetary and taxation policy. The government bill "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation on the Issues of Appointment and Payment of Pensions" was submitted to the State Duma on June 16 and passed the first reading on July 19. The biggest controversy was the proposal to raise the age of retirement for non-concessional categories to 65 for men and 63 for women.
