Ankara is ready to raise again the issue on abolishing the visa regime between the countries. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu. He also raised the issue of crossing the Russian-Turkish border by internal passports. "Of course, we are interested in completely removing visa restrictions for both Russian and Turkish citizens. We would be happy from this. However, there was a proposal from the Russian side to start with at least something. And this is the first step, "- cites Cavusoglu RIA Novosti. He stressed that work in this direction will be carried out in stages. However, according to the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, there are already obvious progress in this issue. However, it requires coordination in the line of special services and security services. The answer was held by the Russian colleague Cavusoglu Sergey Lavrov. He confirmed the words of the Turkish interlocutor and said that Moscow supports the facilitation of the visa regime. "The Russian side suggested some time ago at this stage to make a couple of concrete steps:

first, to return the visa-free regime for holders of business passports, and secondly, to provide visa-free border crossing for long distance drivers who work on international transport," - Lavrov, noting that "Turkish friends" promised to react. "I think that this will be a tangible step for a number of categories of our citizens. We have plans to expand the categories that will use the facilitated visa regime, visa-free regime, and as a whole we are interested in moving towards this goal, "the Russian minister summed up..
