US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin told a meeting of the banking committee of the congress about what measures the US administration will take against the persons mentioned in the "Kremlin report". "Proposals for sanctions are unprecedented work, and we will use this report within the framework of the planned course to introduce sanctions," RIA Novosti quoted the minister as saying..

Mnuchin stressed that the sanctions would be the result of a closed part of the report, which has not yet been declassified by the Congress. The so-called "Kremlin list", published by the US Ministry of Finance on January 29, included more than 200 people: almost all of the Russian leadership, including Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, as well as large Russian businessmen. The document does not entail the immediate imposition of sanctions, but implies that they can be initiated in the future. President Vladimir Putin said that the "Kremlin report" harms relations between Russia and the United States.
