In the US they took up arms against criminal authorities from Russia.

The Ministry of Finance imposed sanctions on 10 people. The list includes Yuri Pichugin, Ruben Tatulian, Alimzhan Tokhtakhunov, Vladimir Tyurin, Zakhary Kalashov, Vasily Khristoforov, Kamchibek Kolbaev, Lasha Shushanashvili, Vladislav Leontiev and Gafur Rakhimov. All of them are influential criminal authorities. Thus, for example, Alimzhan Tokhtakhunov, nicknamed "Taiwanchik", was one of the top ten persons wanted by the FBI. And he began his activity back in the days of the USSR, when he was in prison for parasitism, where he met thieves in law. Kamchibek Kolbaev, another leader of criminals, is officially recognized in the US. He is a key figure in the international drug business, as well as the first "thief in law" in Kyrgyzstan. The others were once in the narrow circle of Grandfather Hassan, who accounted for a lot of contract killings and participation in criminal wars.

One of his comrades-in-arms, Vladimir Tyurin also fell under the sanctions. In October 2017, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine accused him of organizing the murder of Denis Voronenkov. Sanctions also affected two companies from Russia related to criminal organizations.

The restrictions imposed prohibit United States citizens from making financial or other transactions with these individuals and entities and freezing any assets they may have under US jurisdiction.
